My family moved to Craig in June of 2011 from Price, Utah. I was dismayed to find out that an effort to fund a recreation center here in 2008 was not supported by the local community--when the cost to the taxpayer would have only increased their taxes by a quarter of a penny! We love the community, but feel strongly that a recreation center can only make this town even better! We all are feeling the pinch of the recession, but I also know that our children need a safe and fun place to recreate. Our high school swim team needs a good pool. ALL of us would greatly benefit from a fitness center and facilities that will help us to live smarter and play harder! I'll gladly forgo the extra bags of chips or cookies to help bring a recreation center to Craig.
